Special Interest Parent Awarness Seminars
Special interest parental awareness raising sessions get off to a great start!
The Parenting Support and Family Learning focus group agreed that a great way to start supporting parents within Surrey Heath was to offer locally available sessions on a variety of topical issues. They started by offering 2 sessions on Internet Safety and 3 sessions on Drug and Alcohol awarness, both of which have received postive feedback from parents.
All seminars were run at local schools during a 7-8.30pm evening slot. Schools assisted with all advertising and promoted the events as widely as they could.
The Confederation plans to offer a further 3 seminars on Drug and Alcohol Awarness in the autumn 2008 term and will be looking to run more Internet Safety sessions in the spring 2009 term.
If you are interested in attending these or any other Confederation events please contact the Project Manager by email or phone: 07809397811
