Sure Start Children's Centres
Children's Centres in Surrey are where services work together in partnership with children, families and communities to make a positive difference to all.

Within the Borough of Surrey Heath we now have six Children's Centres that have received designation. Each Children's Centre will, over time, evaluate current provision and look to deliver a range of services to cater for the needs of young children and their families including parents, carers and the wider community. For example, Children's Centres might provide:
- Support services for parents which could include parenting advice and information on local childcare
- Health services for children and families which may include health screening, breast-feeding support and health visitor services
- Helping parents into work through links with the local Jobcentre Plus and appropriate training
The centres are designed around a graduated model, meaning that none of them will provide childcare on-site. Services will not only be delivered from the Children's Centre but also as outreach services using appropriate community buildings/venues. Signposting parents and carers to services in their locality will be key. Most centres have a dedicated building from which they work but some operate at different locations.
In striving to improve outcomes for all young children and families the centres work in close partnership with schools within the Surrey Heath Confederation and with other professionals, particularly the Health Service.
